The temperature is terrific for this time of year, and even with though the wind has picked up there is no rain in the forecast until tomorrow at the earliest.
I wandered around the yard to check on the containers, but we've had rain earlier in the week so no watering required.
Even the ladybugs were enjoying the moisture.
(And yes my birdbath needs cleaning!)
I harvested my carrots. This was my first attempt to grow them in a container. I selected a variety that was supposed to be both short in length and in time to maturity.
I guess I didn't thin the plants enough but we got about a cereal bowl full. Just enough for a treat!
And then I found this, a volunteer tomato plant just on the backside of the deck.
I had tossed a few tomatoes still left on one the plants last fall in the space thinking the rabbits might eat them.
Well, apparently, one of the seeds took this summer to germinate. There are even blooms starting...poor thing...the cold is coming so it won't survive much longer.
It may be fall, but today is one those special days when there is still a hint of summer in the air. It won't last long so I plan to enjoy it! Have a great day everyone!
